What the patient health dashboard had to do
A patient opening a health dashboard wants three answers: how am I doing, who am I seeing next, and what do I take today. Each is a different kind of information.
The design gives each its own card. Heart rate reads as a trace and calories as a bar, appointments as a row of doctors with the test and the time, and medication as a week laid out day by day. One bright yellow picks out the current tab and the live reading.
- Readings as picturesA heart trace and a calorie bar.
- Visits in a rowThe doctor, the test and the time.
- Medication by dayA week of doses on a single card.

Before you brief anyone
Planning a patient health dashboard? Agree these before design
Choose the questions, trace the data and scope privacy before the cards are designed.
Request a scoping callDecide which questions the first screen answers.
Readings, appointments and medication each read best in their own form, a trace, a list or a calendar, so a patient finds each one without scrolling past the others.
Settle where every number comes from before the cards are drawn.
Device readings, a scheduling system and prescription records each arrive on their own terms, and the design has to show what happens when one is missing or late.
Scope privacy and compliance with the build, not after it.
A product that handles patient data in the US may fall under HIPAA, which affects sign-in, sharing and what a screen may display, so we set those rules before development starts. Our healthcare page explains how. The Curelinx work on this page is interface design only.
Test readability with the people who will use it.
Patients often check health figures at home on a tablet, some of them tired or anxious, so type size, contrast and plain labels count for more than decoration. Our UI/UX design service treats that as a design objective we test.

What should a patient dashboard show?
Usually the readings a patient tracks, the next appointments and the medication schedule. The Curelinx design gives each its own card: heart rate as a trace, calories as a bar, appointments as a row of doctors with the test and the time, and a week of doses laid out day by day.
What is the difference between a patient portal and a patient dashboard?
A patient portal is the whole signed-in service, with records, messages, bookings and bills. A patient dashboard is its summary screen, the page a patient sees before going deeper, and that summary is what the Curelinx design covers.
Does a patient health dashboard have to meet HIPAA?
In the US it often does: software that handles patients’ health information for providers, health plans or their business associates falls under HIPAA, which shapes sign-in, sharing and what each screen shows. Curelinx is design work shown under its project name, not software in clinical use, so no compliance claim applies to it. When we build healthcare software, those requirements are scoped before development; our healthcare page explains the approach.
How much does a healthcare dashboard cost?
The integrations decide most of it: device data, scheduling and records each add work, and so do the privacy rules. Our guide to custom software development cost lays out the drivers before any quote.
Do you design healthcare apps and dashboards?
Yes. We design interfaces for healthcare products through our UI/UX design service, and Curelinx is one of the design projects we show. For patient-facing websites, see our healthcare website design page.
