What the plant store website had to do

A plant shop sells something living to people who cannot touch it first. The website has to show each plant clearly, say what it needs and make the price easy to find.

The homepage is dark, with one photograph of a greenhouse and a short headline. The shop page turns light: each plant sits on white in its own card, with its name, a care note, the price and a button to buy.

  • A card for each plantName, care note, price and a button.
  • Search, sort, filterThree ways to narrow the plant list.

Before you brief anyone

Planning a plant shop website? Decide these first

Filter by what shoppers ask, say the care and the price on the card, and settle delivery first.

Request a scoping call
  1. Decide how shoppers will narrow the catalog.

Plants are chosen by light, size, care level and pet safety as much as by name, so the filters follow those questions rather than the nursery’s own categories.

  2. Decide what each plant card has to say.

A name, a short care note and the price answer the first questions, and a buy button on the card saves a click to the product page.

  3. Settle delivery before the design.

Shipping live plants limits where and when a store can sell, so the site says so before checkout, not after it. Our ecommerce page covers how we plan a store’s build.

  4. Carry the identity into the box.

For a plant shop the bag, the box and the shop window are part of the brand, so the mark is tried there as well as on screen. Our retail page covers the wider work for shops.

What should a plant store website include?

A shop page where each plant has its own card, with a name, a care note, the price and a button to buy, plus search, sorting and filters to narrow the list. The Botaniq design opens on a dark homepage with one greenhouse photograph and a short headline.

How should a plant nursery website organize its catalog?

By the questions shoppers ask: light, size, care and whether a plant is safe for pets. We map the filters to those before designing the shop page, so a shopper narrows the list in a few taps.

Should a plant shop website come with packaging and print design?

It helps when the brand reaches the customer in a box. For Botaniq, the identity was carried to a mint paper bag and box and to a lime street poster.

How much does a plant store website cost?

We quote it after a scoping call, since the catalog size, the filters, the delivery rules and the platform all change the work. Our guide to website redesign cost covers how those add up.

Do you design ecommerce websites for plant shops?

Yes. We design plant and garden stores as part of our web design work, from the homepage and shop page to the packaging.
