What the furniture store website had to do
Furniture is bought with the eyes first. A shopper wants to see the piece in a room, in good light, before reading a word about it, and the shop has to stay out of the way while they look.
The design uses warm sand and brown tones taken from the rooms it shows, with plain black type. The homepage opens on one interior and two buttons, and the same headline and picture-led layout carry on to a billboard.
- The room comes firstOne interior leads the homepage.
- Colors from the roomsSand and brown, with black type.
- Shop tools in reachSearch, bag and wishlist on top.

Before you brief anyone
Planning a furniture store website? Weigh these first
Choose online or showroom, book the room photography and fix the product details first.
Request a scoping callDecide whether the site sells online or sends shoppers to a showroom.
A furniture ecommerce website needs delivery options, lead times and stock for each product, while a showroom site needs locations and a way to book a visit.
Commission room photography before the layout.
Furniture is judged in a room and in good light, so pictures of each piece in a furnished setting carry more of the sale than any interface detail.
Give dimensions and materials a fixed place.
A buyer has to know a sofa fits the room and the doorway, so measurements, fabrics and finishes belong in the same spot on every product page.
Keep the brand the same from screen to street.
One headline and one picture-led layout should work on the site, on packaging and on outdoor ads. Our retail page covers how we approach stores, and our website redesign checklist helps when an existing site is being replaced.

What should a furniture store website include?
Room photography, product pages with dimensions and materials, and clear routes to buy or visit. The Homura homepage opens on one interior with two buttons, and keeps search, the bag and the wishlist at the top of the page.
Why take a furniture website’s colors from its photographs?
Colors drawn from the rooms make the interface feel part of the interior rather than a frame around it. Homura uses warm sand and brown with plain black type.
How much does a furniture ecommerce website cost?
The size of the catalog, the delivery and stock rules and the platform drive the scope, and we quote once that scope is agreed. Our website redesign cost guide explains what moves it.
Do you design furniture store websites and brands?
Yes. Homura is design work shown under its project name, covering the site and an identity with a roof-shaped mark, used on packing tape and a billboard. We take on this work through our web design service.
