Shoe store app design for sneakers, from browsing to checkout

A shopping app for a sneaker store, designed under the project name Fusion: the screens a shopper passes through from the home feed to a placed order, and the mark for the store.

What the sneaker store app had to do

Someone shopping for shoes on a phone compares a few pairs, saves the ones they like and comes back to them. The app has to keep the shoe large on a small screen, and keep the saved list and the bag one tap away.

The design puts each shoe on a plain gray card with its name and price, on a white background. One orange accent marks where the shopper is and what to tap next: the current tab, a saved shoe, the promo code button.

What we designed for the sneaker store app

  1. Home and product

An offer banner, categories, new arrivals and a product card.

  2. Wishlist

Saved shoes in a list with a search field, each with a price.

  3. Cart and checkout

Quantities, a promo code, the order total and a confirmation.

  4. Brand identity

The mark and the wordmark, shown on a paper shopping bag.

Before you brief anyone

Planning a shoe store app? Sort sizes and photos first

Settle fit, photography and the save-to-bag flow before the first screen.

Request a scoping call
  1. Decide how size, width and colorway are chosen before the product screen is drawn.

Shoes sell on fit, and a shopper who has to hunt for their size on a small screen is easy to lose.

  2. Agree one camera angle for every pair.

Large product cards on a plain background make a range easy to compare, and they show up any shoe photographed differently from the rest.

  3. Plan the saved list and the bag as one flow.

Shoppers compare a few pairs, save them and come back later, so the wishlist, the cart and the promo code should stay a tap apart. Our retail page covers how we approach stores that sell online and in person.

  4. Decide whether the app replaces the online store or sits beside it.

An ecommerce app design that shares the catalog, accounts and checkout with the website avoids two sets of stock data, and our guide to mobile app development cost shows how that choice moves the build.

What screens does a shoe store app need?

A home feed, product pages, a wishlist, a cart and an order confirmation cover the core path. The Fusion design adds an offer banner and new arrivals on the home screen, a search field on the wishlist and a promo code in the cart.

What makes fashion app design different from other ecommerce apps?

Fashion is bought on looks, so the product picture leads and the interface stays quiet around it. In Fusion each shoe sits large on a plain gray card, and one orange accent marks the current tab and the saved shoes.

How much does a shoe store app cost?

The platforms, the link to existing stock and payment systems and the number of screens set the scope, and we price from that scope. The mobile app development cost guide explains the drivers.

Do you design ecommerce apps?

Yes. Fusion is a shopping app we designed and show under its project name, and our mobile app design service takes on apps like it for retail brands.
